Privacy Policy
In short: Capjin does not collect, transmit, sell or share your screenshots, recordings, browsing history or personal information. Your captures stay on your computer.
Who we are
Capjin is a Chrome extension published by Next AI Business. Questions about this policy: contact@nextaibusiness.com.
What Capjin does with your data
- Screenshots and recordings are created only when you ask for one. They are written to the folder you choose on your computer, or to your Downloads folder if no folder is available. They are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
- Annotations are made locally in your browser and are never transmitted.
- Capture history (the 10 most recent captures, with thumbnails) is stored in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your device. You can turn it off or clear it in Capjin's settings, and removing the extension deletes it.
- Settings (save profiles, file name templates, image format, timer, and similar choices) are stored locally with
chrome.storage.local. - Folder access: when you choose a save folder, Chrome keeps a permission handle to it so Capjin can write files there. Capjin only writes the captures you make.
What we do not do
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or telemetry.
- No user accounts. Capjin itself does not ask for your name or email. (If you buy Pro, ExtensionPay asks for an email on its own page.)
- No reading of form fields, cookies or browsing history, and no collection of page content. Capjin sees a page as an image at the moment you capture it. It also reads the page title and domain, only on your device, to name files and label history entries (up to 80 characters per entry). They are never sent anywhere.
- No sale or sharing of data. We do not have your data to sell.
- No remote code. All of Capjin's code ships inside the extension.
Pro licensing and payments
Some features are part of an optional Pro upgrade. Licensing and payment are handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), which uses Stripe to process payments. When you check or buy a Pro license, Capjin communicates with ExtensionPay to confirm your license status. Payment details are entered on ExtensionPay and Stripe pages and are never seen or stored by Capjin. ExtensionPay may collect the email address you give at checkout. Their handling of that data is described in their own privacy policy. This is the only network service Capjin contacts, and no screenshots or recordings are ever sent to it.
Your licence status and ExtensionPay's anonymous ID are cached in the extension's local storage. Capjin re-checks your licence with ExtensionPay every few minutes. If you are offline, the last successful result is trusted for up to 14 days.
To ask about, correct or delete data ExtensionPay holds (such as the email address you gave at checkout), email contact@nextaibusiness.com. ExtensionPay's own privacy policy governs that data.
Capjin's use of information adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Why Capjin asks for each permission
| Permission | Reason |
|---|---|
| activeTab | Capture the tab you are on, only when you invoke Capjin. |

| tabCapture | Record video (and tab audio) of the current tab when you start a recording. |
| offscreen | Write captures and process video in a background document. |
| downloads, downloads.ui | Save a capture to Downloads as a fallback, and keep Chrome's download bubble from interrupting you. |
| storage | Remember your settings and local history preferences. |
| commands | Let you start Capjin with a keyboard shortcut. |
| extensionpay.com (host) | Confirm Pro licenses with ExtensionPay. |
Your choices
